Businessman pleads guilty to abetting Tengku Adnan to receive RM1 million from company thesundaily TengkuAdnan

today pleaded guilty in the High Court here today to an alternative charge with abetting former Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor who had corruptly received RM1 million from him in 2013.The alternative charge against Tan was for abettment in the commission of an offence by Tengku Adnan, who, in his capacity as a public servant, had corruptly received RM1 million through a Public Bank cheque which was deposited into his CIMB Bank account by Tan.

The offence was committed at CIMB Bank Berhad, Putra World Trade Centre, Jalan Tun Ismail, here on Dec 27, 2013. Tan, represented by lawyer Faisal Moideen, pleaded guilty to the alternative charge during case management today. Last Aug 23, the court set two days from Sept 19 to hear the Tan’s corruption case, which would be heard jointly withTengku Adnan‘s case pertaining to receiving RM1 million from a company to increase the plot ratio for development in Jalan Semarak.
