Varroa mite, which seriously harms bees & leads to hive collapse, invaded NZ in c. 2000. Aust is now the only continent on earth which is free of varroa & must protect its biosecurity. Aust needs to assist NZ to combat & eliminate varroa from NZ whilst protecting own borders.
