Hundreds displaced after Kempton Park shack fire via SABCNewsOnline

Hundreds of families have been left homeless after a fire swept through the Pomona informal settlement in Kempton Park in Ekurhuleni. An estimated 250 shacks were burnt in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and investigations are continuing. No fatalities or injuries were reported.“The people are still in the area, they refused to relocate. Our disaster management was on scene also trying to assist and also other relevant departments were on scene there.”
