The government has vowed to sustain programs that will further enhance the competitiveness of local talents to meet the demands of the market.

Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar made the statement after welcoming the rise in the country’s global ranking in developing homegrown human resources.

“We will continue to address challenges that hinder personal, educational, and professional growth as well as foster an environment where the retention of talent in the Philippines is fully realized through necessary programs, reforms, and policies,” he said. “This will continue to be a priority for the government and will be among President Duterte’s lasting legacies,” he added.

Andanar said the government has taken measures to enhance Filipino professionals’ capability such as making education inclusive and accessible through its Republic Act No. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
