The Australian's economics editor Adam Creighton says the government's $3.8 billion infrastructure package is 'quite a small amount of money' and is unlikely to kick start the economy. Credlin

The Australian's economics editor Adam Creighton says the government's $3.8 billion infrastructure package is "quite a small amount of money" and is unlikely to kick start the economy. Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the government will accelerate infrastructure investment by bringing forward close to $4 billion in funding over the next four years.

Responding to sluggish growth and calls from the Reserve Bank for extra economic stimulus, Mr Morrison will spend an extra $1.8 billion this year and next on major projects. Mr Creighton noted the investment, when divided by four, amounts to $950 million per year, adding “it’s a $2 trillion economy”. He told Sky News he’d be surprised to see “any bounce in any of the major economic aggregates". "It would be far more sensible to bring those tax cuts forward," he said.

Morrison is bringing forward half of one year's franking credits and spreading it across 4 years and that's stimulus? 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Considering LNP's changes to superannuation, it must be made voluntary & those who want to end participation ought to be able to withdraw their full holdings without paying any taxes or fees since tax was paid initially by both business & individuals prior to input into super.

Wouldn't kick start my mower

People died & are dying as a direct result of LNP govt, its policies & its failure to stop: govt/corp collection of citizens' data, loss of citizens' liberty (no one reports crimes due to loss of anonymity). Public servants are also legally gagged from speaking out & dissenting.

Not only will it fall flat, it will also go to globalists, where Aust bleeds out again. Further, changes LNP made to superannuation are seriously hurting Aust citizens. Govt's charging tax on small withdrawals of super on compassionate grounds. It's sociopathic. traitorsingovt

Why is this so hard ! Morrison is captive to the public service, who detest tax cuts. The last thing the Mandarins will support is revenue reduction. Morrison is a PS pastie, face the facts.

I think most worked that one out.

At last someone calling it at what it is

Oh come on Sky. Obviously you are controlled as well. Lima Declaration, Unidroit Treaty, control from the UN. These puppets are not in control. Please start actually reporting. Or do you need new reporter's.
