With its ramped-up content moderation efforts, LinkedIn is likely hoping to avoid getting caught up in ongoing public scrutiny of social platforms:

The most prevalent form of content that required action from LinkedIn was spams and scams, which the company defined as "untargeted, irrelevant, and repetitive communications or invitations, often for financial gain." During the reporting period, 60.5 million such pieces of content were removed, with 99.8% detected by automated defenses.
