Ivory Coast opposition says Soro case is attempt to stifle dissent sabcnews

“These actions are attempts to silence all criticism by the opposition of the government when we should be discussing how the 2020 election is being organized,” politician Gnonzie Ouattara from the Coalition for Reconciliation, Democracy and Peace , an alliance of 21 opposition parties including Soro’s, told a news conference.Soro has denounced the investigation as politically motivated.

In its first comment on the investigation, the Ivorian government said it had taken note that an international arrest warrant had been issued against Soro.
