Tokyo stocks slide on virus fears

TOKYO stocks opened lower today for the second straight day on fears over the widening coronavirus outbreak in China. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.87% or 204.21 points to 23,139.30 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 0.97% or 16.57 points at 1,686.00.
