Twitter's neon warning feature would likely run into familiar content moderation obstacles, but the partially community-based approach could please users

with bright orange and red warning labels and potential community involvement as it searches for the best route to fight misinformation on its platform, per NBC News. A demo of the features was leaked and subsequently confirmed by Twitter, which noted that the company is presently experimenting with a number of features meant to combat misinformation.

If rolled out, the new features would build on these previous efforts, but with a bolder tone and a sharper focus on mitigating the spread of false information. Not only would the features call more attention to debunked posts than is presently the case, but they would also supply users with correct information and additional context about the topic or issue at hand.

If Twitter rolls out these features they will likely run into familiar content moderation obstacles but the partially community-based approach could please Twitter users.
