Checks at the Balik Pulau market this morning showed signages put up in various parts of the building to inform people about the 20-minute ruling.

Penang Island City Council Mayor Datuk Yew Tung Seang told the New Straits Times that this was part of the stricter measure put in place by the city council in the second phase of the MCO, which ends on April 14. To ensure market-goers spend shorter time inside the market, Yew said fish sellers were told to sell their fish without having to clean them or scale them for their customers.

Authorities in the state have taken numerous stern actions after receiving bad press at the start of the MCO on March 18.
