Government still assessing the effectiveness of lockdown: Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa says it is still early to decide if the nationwide lockdown should be extended. He was speaking during his visit to Rand Water’s headquarters in Glenvista, South of Johannesburg, on Tuesday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa says so far he is impressed except for the few that still think it is business as usual. He, however, said they are still assessing whether there is a need to extend the lockdown. ”I have seen the picture of Minister Ndabeni-Abrahams sitting at a luncheon with a number of friends and other people. I have asked her to come and see me so she is going to come and see and I am going to have a discussion with her about the impact of visuals like those on what we are trying to do because we are trying to instil a clear message to all our people that social distance is important.

Health check: I’m worried about how masks 😷 are used. 🤔 I guess...Not safe to put a used mask on your chin

I wish they don't prolong the lockdown ay.

Dear Mr. President please close all the tarvens and open clothing stores there are pregnant women out there who needs clothing for their unborn babies

Another sad day in SA ,one of many road accidents that take lives on a daily basis 9 lives hav been lost in one day Whilst it takes som days fo Covid19 to take 9lives It takes minutes on road accidents Adding to the 57per day on crime Worthy of a Lockdown!

What's there to assess really? You can't allow people to go back to their normal lives as if you found a cure, some countries are beginning to initiate the lockdown measure and you want to do the opposite

All i can Say people must just speak for themselves. Most people eMzantsi only Survive trhough mouth to hand on a daily basis. Most of people are working at places where there policies of the companies is Just No Work pay basis.

We're calling for the extension of the lockdown until January 2021

It's effect? 1. A destroyed economy 2. No plan on how millions will eat with no pay end of April. 3. Domestic Violence up. 4. Homeless still on street. 5. Number of recovered and their treatment plan not updated 6. Over policing of Blacks 6. Human Rights violations

A commission of inquiry will be established.

effectiveness ya masimba while CyrilRamaphosa is going on dates ?

Pliz Mr President don't extend the lockdown pliz we so boring at home at least close tavern and...but let us go to work

The number of confirmed cases is an uptrend day by day and there's only less than 70k people tested so far which means that the starts are not a true reflection of the reality. I see the extention of the lockdown

I see a need for an extension. Looking at other countries, we definitely haven't seen the peak yet and returning to normality will only set us back. Let's isolate, focus on existing cases and reevaluate around end of April 🤔🤔
