News Corp Business columnist Terry McCrann says everything China does in terms of foreign investment is “to get into the space and exploit it,” amid news a Chinese company is poised to enter into Australia’s energy market.

Chinese company Gold Wind has emerged as a frontrunner to win the tender process of the Glennies Creek pumped hydro project as Australian suitors AGL and Meridian bow out.

Mr McCrann said the aim for the Chinese company is to “get into the space at a low price and then milk it while you’re there”. The Australian’s Adam Creighton told Sky News host Peta Credlin the major issue with hydro projects is “apparently it gives the company a greater role to influence the grid”. Image: AP

Why the hell do we even contemplate letting a foreign country control our power supply. They’ve been banned from even supplying parts to the US grid. We need to follow suit

I would have thought that our vital assets would be a priority to protect and defend in any event of conflict with a foreign power. Why then, does our Government allow a foreign power to purchase our Vital Assets? MADNESS from the people we elect to represent us!

There's already one in WA. It's called Alinta.

are you saying you are now against capitalism?

These midgets are the real enemy! The black and white issues here are only making us look weak. Instead off focusing on the imported issues from overseas FOCUS ON CHINA!

Umm. Isn't that the definition of capitalism?

Why else would you invest in something? To be exploited? FREAKING' GENIUS. 🤣😂🤣

Let them get out of the country

Shouldn't there be controversial and scandals news about the party that allowed it ?

Fuck ms, Terry Mcrann still up Rupert’s wazoo

China seeks to “to get into the space and exploit it,” That's OK isn't it? It is what every expanding empire has always sought to do. Nothing new to see. We just have to teach middle China that telling your Government what to do is better than them telling them what to do.
