KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Borrowers must begin servicing their loans from October as the repayment moratorium will end as scheduled in September, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Aziz said today. According to national news agency Bernama, the minister confirmed that the moratorium announced in March will not be extended.

He said banks would instead take a targeted approach in helping borrowers with restructuring their existing loans. The minister added there was no need for an extension as most businesses have been allowed to resume operations and borrowers should consequently be able to make their loan payments by now.
