Unless this is about taking exams, I don’t see how this is true. There’s nothing in any given 6 month period that would have any impact on my career if I hadn’t learnt it. Over time there’s how to analyse/argue/do science; but not any specific thing/fact. Where’s their method?

I seriously doubt that sort of thing will even be measurable given the catastrophic societal changes ahead for the young generation. You’re talking like there will even be jobs for most of them, let alone paid ones.

Not sure how you can quantify it, but a tiny minority have been effectively schooled at home, and some have had no education at all. I wonder, why not one education system has considered cancelling 2020 and starting the year again for ALL primary school children.

Absolute rubbish..

Complete BS. Pure conjecture. Dead family members would hold them back more.

As opposed to losing 100% of lifetime earnings due to being dead.

Like it or not, an experiment is going on right now - how will school closures affect education outcomes. I wager the effect on kids is vastly overstated, and they will be as fine as everyone else.

What utter fucking shite ! It’s no wonder newspapers are at risk of closing down with shite like this published in them

And the other 97% due to Brexit

Another feel good education news story... thanks. Can we have a bit of positivity please? Dunkirk spirit too much to ask ? And another survey stating the bleeding obvious that disadvantaged pupils without access to IT fell behind more affluent peers - you don’t say?! Genius!

Who makes this kind of thing up? Total speculation

What is 20 % loss of lung function in terms of earnings? Loss of taste and smell ?

What a stupid perspective.

Huh Is that how we measure life? I have spend in hospitals 10% of my live until age of 25. From 6 to 15 over 2 years. Did i miss school classes? Oh yeah. Getting extra lessons to restore the lost of a half year? Some. Not all. But i have had a great life. Health is worth it.

FFS there's a global pandemic on. News for you all children will make less than boomers. Guardian grow some.

O the other hand, they could get very sick or die.

how silly.

They can easily lose 3% or more of their children if they go back to school.

Uk children could gain 3% of lifetime earnings due to lockdown school closures
