Boris Johnson's government is privately 'desperate' for Trump to lose the election to Joe Biden

The president reportedlyon Johnson in a moment of "apoplectic" fury in January, when Johnson initially refused to scrap the UK's deal with Huawei to help develop Britain's 5G network.

The UK ultimately relented following the imposition of US sanctions on the company. However, the row has helped to reduce Johnson's government's appetite to strike a new trade deal with Trump. On her recent trip to Washington, the UK's International Trade Secretary Liz Truss was told to downplay the prospects of a deal.Fears among UK voters about the potential impact of a US trade deal on food standards in Britain have reportedly forced Johnson's government to put the brakes on the previous briefing of a potentially rapid agreement.

"Is it going to happen this year? Basically, no," one UK government official told the Financial TimesJohnson's government believes that a Biden victory could take the "sting" out of the issue, because the Democrat challenger would likely revive Obama's plan to sign the US up to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership .

One Conservative Party adviser told the Sunday Times: "The assumption in Whitehall is that if Biden wins, we won't need to do a bilateral trade deal because we might both end up in CPTPP. That is already committed to high standards of animal welfare. Some of the sting will be removed from those issues."Something is loading.

Most foreign governments feel the same. They are desperate for a weak Joe Biden so they can take advantage of America again.

He will get Covid again before that happens.

Uk has to do America's bidding..boris should grow a pair and stop hoping the American electorate will bail him out..what happened to the fantastic trade deal with trump?

Bojo fancies his chances dealing with a senile dementia sufferer

That's every single foreign leader, it will make their life far easier, be it friends; UK, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Israel, South Korea, Austrlalia, India etc or foes ; China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela etc everybody wants to deal with an Adult in the Whitehouse

😂 Spreading Rumors.. In fact Boris like Trump very much

Johnson's government is on the same page as me.

What other option he has? He needs a trade deal with the USA...

Politicsinsider Well Trump has betrayed all of our European allies, so I'm not surprised. President Biden will need to take an apology tour in 2021 and let our allies know that America will honor our commitments again!

Decent Americans are desperate too

Same

Apart from the Russians and Chinese, I'd say every other country wants the same.

Imagine how we feel here in America, Boris!

You don’t say

I think everyone in the world is 😆😆
