PETALING JAYA: Those in Singapore can now enter Malaysia for official and business purposes from Aug 10, says the Immigration director general.

"All foreigners that stay in Singapore who wish to enter Malaysia for short periods of time due to official and work matters can now do so via the Reciprocal Green Lane .

"Singaporeans and permanent residents with a Long Term Social Visit Pass who wish to enter the country for work and business purposes can also do so via the Periodical Commuting Arrangement ," said Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud in a press statement on Saturday . Those wishing to use the RGL and PCA would first need to apply online via the MyTravelPass system from Aug 10."Those using the RGL must have their local sponsors make their application via the MPT. Those using the PCA must have their employers make their applications, also via the MPT.

"The full guidelines on the application process and required documents for both the RGL and PCA can be found on the Immigration Department's official website as well as on the Singaporean Immigration authorities website at https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg," he said."Strict action will be taken against those that fail to adhere to the set standard operation procedures ," he said.
