The Vice Chancellor of the First Technical University, Ibadan, Prof. Ayobami Salami, has stressed the importance of industry-scholarship linkage.

He called for collaboration between the ‘town and the gown’ when the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Oluyole, Ibadan, branch was presenting several pieces of equipment it donated to the institution.

At the event held on the varsity’s premises, where the NSE delegation was led by the branch Chairman, Engineer Ademola Agoro, Salami commended the leadership of the NSE and its continued support for the university. He said, “I want to put it on record that among several other MOUs we have signed, the one with the NSE has been active from day one. There is no institution today that can meet its infrastructural requirement by its own resources alone but by having partners that you can actually rely on.

Some of the equipment donated include power supply systems for voltage level control, voltage monitors, contactor devices for switching, power cards, CPU for a Programmable Logic Controller, Human Machine Interface, Small Control Panel, Choke resistors, motion controllers and sensor devices. All rights reserved.
