pledged Thursday to increase representation of Black employees across its workforce by 20% over the next three years.
While pledging to do better, Target referred to strides it has made. It said it has doubled representation of company non-White officers in the past five years to nearly 30%. Of that, though, only 5% are Black. Walmart has a larger U.S. workforce than Target. About 21% of its employees across the country are Black and 16% are Latino, according to aIn the U.S., Black Americans make up more than 13% of the population, according"Inclusivity is a deeply rooted value at Target and we've had an ambitious diversity and inclusion strategy for many years for our guests and team," chief human resources officer Melissa Kremer said in a news release.
All the big corporations must have held a meeting and settled on the 20-25% goal.
Affirmative action is illegal and complete bullshit
So forced RACISM? What happens to best person for the job? Now it's best skin color?
Yes! That’s what all companies should do! Hire people because of their skin color, not because they’re good for the job. Solid business plan right there. 👍🏻
If they are the best people for the job, great
Probably the same ones that looted ya too!
Nothing like publicly announcing quota hires for positive PR. Keep up the work!
If they weren't discriminating, why the making these specific changes. These companies have always known what they were doing, now they are trying to act like they are making major moves.
So much for a colorblind society.. Now, they'll hire anyone with a pulse as long as their skin color checks the box.. Great job, Target. We expected nothing more from the outfit that allows men in dresses pee next to our daughters in your restrooms
Handouts wont solve the problem
Work?!?!? You mean get up and leave my home for minimum wage, why I can stay home for the same?
When did companies stop hiring people based on their qualifications and abilities?
If you are doing your job correctly, why do you have a diversity program. Hire the most qualified for the job. No race has a qualified advantage.
Target doesn’t hire people of color or older Americans....they don’t fit Target’s image.
Loot a bunch of their stores...get a job! GREAT idea! I wish my company would let me steal from them too 🙄
that's racist! strange every video of a target getting destroyed and looted showed blacks as culprits. caving to terroristic behavior is not the way we do things. this is not a 3rd world country as much as the dems wish it were.
How does Target stay in business when you have Walmart right down the street 🤔 boycott Target
The problem is why isn’t it already ?
So they're either going to start discriminating, or they were discriminating before. Yikes...
Hire the best qualified people, not based on skin color!
I hope that it won’t only be hiring for positions at the check out stand.
Any word on Asians or Hispanics? Seems kind of racist
Karen will find somewhere else to shop
That will surely stop the looting
JavierSotoTV Lol 😂 Wait, so does this mean they’ll hire less Hispanics? Wow. Isn’t that racist and illegal?
Racism in action
As long as it benefits shareholders
So target is going to hire people, or not hire people based on the color of their skin...? Sounds Racist
Target throws tokens to everyone by pledging to hire more black people. But why hasn’t Target been hiring more black people anyway? That’s the issue! That means they have been discriminating, right.?
Target is racist for stating such....
Start here. This person appears to have white skin, and therefore less qualified for any position in the company than someone with black skin.
I think they say GetWokeGoBroke 😆
Institutional Racism?
Are other races guaranteed 20% or is this incentive to discriminate.
A diverse workforce should be the goal of every business.
Pretty sure they are hiring based on race and that is illegal. 🤔 TargetIsCommunist
Don’t fall for the percent game
