Opinion | Stop wasting your money donating to Amy McGrath's campaign against Mitch McConnell. By ZachariahSippy

when he refused to confirm President Obama's Court nominee in 2016 because the election was too close.for giving more money to his opponent: former Marine pilot Amy McGrath. As a Kentuckian, and a progressive, I share the desire to push back against McConnell. But there are better ways to prevent him from being Majority Leader come January than pouring tens of millions of dollars into McGrath's campaign — which is almost certainly doomed to fail.

To be clear: this isn't disqualifying. Her opponent, Republican six-term incumbent, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, has similarly raised more than 90% of his campaign funds from out of state. Both campaigns recently reported having more than $16 million cash on hand. And in a state with cheap media markets, neither one needs much more for the remaining five weeks between now and the election.

ZachariahSippy I disagree respectfully....from Florida...money ad helping Senator Bill Nelson...2018. The campaigns gave back money....after..damage ads done ...cheating..Lev. FL would been represented different...Governor would have been different.

ZachariahSippy ZachariahSippy In one week she climbed 8 pts. Ditching Mitch is still possible. And given he his complicit support of realDonaldTrump and the damage he has done to the senate, senatemajldr needs to be fired by the voters! GOPBetrayedAmerica

ZachariahSippy But overall you are right that it's a total waste of money. Booker4KY probably would have done better than McGrath. People don't want someone who is basically a Republican to go against a Republican. They want someone who is actually offering something to the working class.

ZachariahSippy I think that your estimation that McGrath making concessions to conservatives will help her campaign is wrong like supporting Kavanagh. Helping the working class with higher minimum wage, free healthcare etc. And calling for Justice for Breonna Taylor would actually help way more

ZachariahSippy Donate to Barbara Bollier’s campaign in Kansas. She has a real chance of flipping a Republican seat. McConnell is so worried that his PAC is spending big in Kansas on ads.

ZachariahSippy McConnell is the reason the rest of the country thinks Ky is stupid

ZachariahSippy Don’t trust poles. VOTE.

ZachariahSippy Eyes on the prize, people! We can’t vote McConnell out, but we can strip him of his power.

ZachariahSippy Interesting that a paper needs to publish something like this.
