MPS president Shamsul Shahril Badliza Mohd Noor said the three premises, which were located 10m from the banks of Sungai Rawang, had been issued a notice to vacate under Section 245 of the National Land Code as they were squatting on government land.“The leaseholder rented out the lots to these business premises.“The premises currently occupying the land are located on a river reserve and the government will not issue business licences to the operators, ” he added.
He said while the demolition exercise had gone well, the only trouble received was from the cattle farm owner, who was reluctant to remove his 20 animals and two chickens. Asked why other heavy machinery and equipment workshops were spared the excavator’s claw, Shamsul said these premises had appealed to PTDG for time to remove their machinery to protect their investments.He added that it was best for the owners of these premises to demolish their structures and vacate the land instead of waiting for MPS to come after them.At the time of the demolition, no pollution to the river was detected.
To ensure that the river reserve land would not be encroached by illegal businesses again, Shamsul said MPS would do constant patrols to monitor the area.
