SIBU: The public are staying away from Pasar Tamu Taman Indah here after news of four Indonesian women who were looking for jobs here tested positive for Covid-19.

The four women were told to take a Covid-19 test on Dec 6 and the first test results were negative, but a second round of tests on Dec 15 came back positive.It is learnt that an agent dropped them off at a bus stop near the market on Dec 16.Sibu Municipal Council chairman Clarence Ting, who visited the market on Saturday , said only 37 out of the 115 traders were operating.

He said traders were at a loss what to do and he could only tell them that they had to weather out the unfortunate situation. He also reminded the people that their safety is in their own hands and to follow the Health Ministry's standard operating procedures at all times.
