Zodwa started"Zodwa Wabantu Chicken & Eggs" earlier this year, selling live chickens and trays of eggs. Zodwa said:"We don't know what the future holds for artists, and I don't want to be broke. That's my biggest fear. I had to be proactive and think of other ways to make money."
From morning to night, Zodwa has been delivering her eggs to happy customers around Johannesburg and sharing the positive response with her Instagram followers. Although her business is currently operating on a small scale, Zodwa has her eyes set on supplying big supermarket chains, including Spar, Pick n Pay and Shoprite.
Celebrity friends have also rallied behind Zodwa including Kelly Khumalo, Ntando Duma and most recently Dineo Ranaka purchased five trays of eggs. Paying it forward, Zodwa has also been using her platform to promote the small businesses who have purchased her products, sharing their business details with her 1.4 million Instagram followers.
