The bombing, the first in three years to target the Tayaran Square market in Baghdad, comes amid heightened political tensions over planned early elections and a severe economic crisis.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT. Two attackers wearing suicide vests blew themselves up among shoppers. Suicide attacks have been rare in Iraqi capital since ISIS were defeated in 2017. An interior ministry spokesman said he expected the death toll to rise.
