An early morning fire on Thursday destroyed the Gwarimpa Tipper Market, killing one person. The deceased was believed to have been burnt in his shop when the fire started a round 12.

The fire was still smouldering when The PUNCH visited the scene as burnt carrots, cabbages and onions littered the ground.A fish seller, Adamu Mohammed said he lost 130 pieces of catfish while Auwal Lafia disclosed that he lost over 70. According to him, over 300 traders were affected by the fire, adding that the people needed government intervention to “weather this temptation.”
