'What we’re all trying to do is put last season’s accolades in the rearview mirror and focus on the big goal.' After a perfect regular season ended in a playoff upset, Raptors Uprising GC say they have unfinished business to attend to. (Via loung_s)

After going an unprecedented 16-0 during the regular season, the Uprising were upset by eventual champions Wizards District Gaming in the semifinals of the 2020 NBA 2K League playoffs.

“Unfinished business is an expression that’s come up a lot during our off-season and I think what we’re all trying to do is put last season’s accolades in the rearview mirror and focus on the big goal, the one thing we have yet to accomplish, which is bringing a championship to Toronto,” said Shane Talbot, MLSE’s esports manager, in a recent interview.

The core of the team will remain intact with star guards Hailey and Donald still in the fold, in addition to the return of key cog Maurice “ReeceMode” Flowers, but the three remaining roster spots are being replaced with fresh faces – some that are familiar and one completely new. “The trade for Type was because Type is an absolutely elite, top-three – maybe higher – centre in the league, and Jerry is a super elite centre as well, but I think that Type may just give us an edge over the team from last season, quite frankly,” said Talbot.

At this past Saturday’s draft, the Uprising only had one pick in the third round . Though, Talbot and the team were happy with their selection as they brought back another player who was with them in their first two years Josh “TsJosh” McKenna.
