Katsina market fire: Monumental tragedy – Gov Masari reacts - Daily Post Nigeria

The Christian Association of Nigeria on Monday condemned, in strong terms, the assassination attempt on Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom.

“If a state governor is unsafe despite all the security operatives in his convoy, then who is safe?”, Joseph Daramola, CAN General Secretary quipped in a statement. Daramola wondered why herdsmen leaders who publicly threatened the Governor are still going about their businesses as if they had done nothing unusual.

“Are they holding superior ammunitions? Are they waiting till everyone resort to self-defence with the attendant consequences? The primary responsibility of any government is to protect the lives and property of the citizens.”
