A job portal says there's a recruitment surge in business process outsourcing, manufacturing and production, information technology, and government agencies.

Despite the implementation of strict quarantine restrictions, recruitment activities are still growing as companies provide flexible work arrangements or work-from-home set up, a jobs portal said.

In late March, the government implemented enhanced community quarantine in the Greater Manila area due to a spike in COVID-19 infections that overwhelmed hospitals. This meant limited movement and only a number of industries allowed to continue operations. "We see that this will continue and will be a more stable source of income for most Filipinos," he added., an improvement from February's 8.8%. This means 3.44 million Filipinos are currently out of work, coming from the previous month's 4.19 million.
