KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 — Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today confirmed that the “arrogant” political aide who “acted like a minister” and irked the business community when Pakatan Harapan was government was DAP’s Tony Pua. for a New Malaysia added that the Damansara MP held “socialist” views that conflicted with the “capitalist” nature of businessmen.
Dr Mahathir said that his main reason in favouring business people is to help develop the country — regardless of the background of the investor. He stressed that this is not cronyism. “If they fail, they are not my cronies, but if they succeed they are my cronies,” he noted, drily, and pointed out that “the ones who succeed are very few”.
“I’m very friendly with the unions and they all work with me because what I did was in favour of them. The DAP politician acknowledged that he may have offended a certain gaming businessman with close links to the former prime minister even as he said he was only guessing the person’s identity and had no confirmation if he was accurate.
Overzealous
Attack la Azmin, tony pua apa kepentingan?
For the nation. Duh
Dr M chedetofficial calling Tony Pua a socialist just to protect his own generational wealth. I choose social democracy over rampant kleptocracy any time.
TP got trolled. Plain and simple.
You are just a chick to Tun M
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Looks like the 'termites' have come out of the woodworks! Numbskulls got hoodwinked left, right and centre and still putting these knuckle heads on a pedestal. If this is not weird and strange enough, I weep for the coming generation for being so gullible and naive!
What does the person mean by “socialist”? Is he equating “socialist” with “communism”. You see… Europe sana are socialist countries, tau. Our governance style pun leans more towards socialism jugak. Kita bukan kapitalisme macam US.
Not my top concern if he is doing something good for king and country. Talking about overstepping...... Remember the late Tun Salleh Abbas?
It is racist no 1 Malaysia who is arrogant. Tun should instead thank Mr Tony for saving billions for Malaysia.
