The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, is presently in a meeting with the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva.
In her remarks, the finance minister explained that the government had to reconsider its decision on the planned removal of fuel subsidy after the 2022 budget was passed by the National Assembly. The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at a meeting with the two ministers and others in Abuja on January 24, 2022.According to Ahmed, it has become clear that the timing for the removal of fuel subsidy will be problematic as the country still experiences high inflation.

This government should be sensitive to the feeling of Nigerians at this time,removing subsidy from petroleum is to add more hardship and suffering to life of people in the country,people will surely resist it if government didn't reverse their plan & it may be worst than ENDSARS.
