When Michael K. Williams died in September, he had already wrapped shooting most of Season 2 of his Vice TV docu-series “Black Market.” But some voice-over work and on-camera elements still remaine…

and Felicia “Snoop” Pearson — who was discovered by Williams and eventually joined the cast of “The Wire” — to take on the voice-over work and complete those episodes.

“Mike — that was my brother,” Pearson says. “Blood couldn’t have made us closer. People don’t know how generous and caring and loving this man was. I knew how special this project was to him. I didn’t care what I had going on; my brother needed me, so I’m here.” Goldman says Morgan was brought on because he and Williams had always talked about working together but couldn’t get their schedules to align. And Perez, who had bonded with Williams as a fellow Brooklyn native, helped complete an episode that took place in Puerto Rico.

“To fill Mike’s shoes is such a tremendous task, and it was almost as if he delivered these three names to us,” Goldman says. “They showed up for a real reason. It wasn’t about work. It was honoring Mike and his legacy and completing the mission that he was on.” “Black Market With Michael K. Williams” returns five years after its first season; Goldman says the long gap is partly because the show took a toll on the actor. “We lost a lot of the people that were featured on that show, and it affected him deeply,” Goldman says. “These were people that he kept in touch with after the show. For him it was about connecting with people and telling their stories in a compassionate way.
