The Federal Government has warned independent monitors for the National Social Investment Programme in Lagos State against harassing and intimidating beneficiaries.

“No intimidation of beneficiaries by an independent monitor will be accepted by the ministry. Any independent monitor found intimidating or harassing a beneficiary will be taken off the programme.

“Be informed that we have officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Department of State Services working with us on this programme and those found culpable will be handed over to relevant authorities.” The Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs Yetunde Arobieke, who was represented at the event by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Olujimi Ige, assured trainees of continued support from the state government.

“The nature of the assignment is a herculean task and I want to urge beneficiaries to be up and doing and I assure them that there will be a continued support from the Lagos State Government,” he said. All rights reserved.
