Six months after the inauguration of its modern cocoa processing factory in Akure, Johnvents Industries Limited, has announced that it has processed about 5,000 metric tonnes of cocoa for export.

Alamu added, “We are proud to say that in six months, we are well on our way to achieving the set goals at inauguration. Our production capacity utilisation has improved from 20% in December 2021 to 66% in May 2022.”

The managing director stressed that at the beginning of operation in 2021, the company projected that hundreds of workers would be engaged by the company, saying over 200 people currently worked in the factory. The Manager, Business, Sales and Operations, JIL, Mrs Caroline Omotosho, explained that the company was determined to make quality impact on the local and global value chains within a short time.

Omotosho stated, “We have introduced our retail product, the Johnvents pure cocoa powder, into the local market. We believe it is not enough that we export cocoa cake and cocoa butter, we also want Nigerians to incorporate healthy meals into their diets and enjoy the benefits of cocoa. “Also, Johnvents Industries Limited has heavily invested in our farmers and local buying agents. Within our ecosystem, we have 5,000 farmers. We educate the farmer clusters on good agronomy practices and also provide support on seedlings and globally approved pesticides amongst others.”All rights reserved.
