He submitted three new legislations before the City Council to improve social equity. There are some criteria, according to the proposal the owner must live in a disproportional area, including, a high poverty rate, a large number of people using income-based state or federal programs, a high rate of unemployment and a high rate of cannabis-related arrests, convictions or incarcerations.

Minorities Mayor Harrell and Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda are working to help by improving social equity in the cannabis industry. "This suite of legislation does not undo that harm, but it is a steppingstone in the right direction," Brianna Thomas, with the Mayor’s office, said.

Jesus

So.... a current Pot Shop in Seattle is 'NOT serving' black and brown people?!!?! Do black and brown people need to shop in different stores!?!?

More like privilege..

The systematic racism we were warned about just might be coming from the Political Party thats been in power in WA for 30+ years and firmly believes that blacks and other minorities are incapable of sucess without government handouts.

Fucking ridiculous

What does this even mean? Please just stop.

Oh i think the playing field in the cannabis market has more minorities in it that they think… maybe just not legally.

I'm Native American and related to Chief Sitting Bull. Please have Bruce throw money at me so I can start my Fry Bread food truck and sell Indian Tacos around the country, using my own Grandmother's recipe. Use my race to get ahead please, like you do with others.
