Robert Sarver announced Wednesday that he has started the process of selling the NBA and WNBA franchises he owns in Phoenix.
Last week the CEO of one of the Suns and Mercury’s largest sponsors – PayPal – said he would pull his company’s support for the team if Sarver was still owner in a year. A minority shareholder of the Suns, Jahm Najafi, also said Sarver needed to be held accountable and shouldn't be the majority owner any more.
In his announcement, Sarver said he wanted to use the one-year suspension to"make amends" for his past behavior.
