Lakita and Aaron Spann announced in April they would invest $200,000 to expand their Mr. Potato Spread brand into a 2,200-square-foot stand-alone location in River City Marketplace. The store is under construction at 840 Nautica Dr., Suite 117 with dine-in seating for 32 customers.
The Spanns closed the doors to their flagship Regency Square Mall location in October; however, Mr. Potato Spread’s food truck, delivery service and Orange Park Mall eateries continue to thrive. “They had an amazing month,” Lakita said. “It’s been a learning curve for us as franchisors, but we quickly recalibrate from mistakes.”
