One of the girls hurt during the incident wrote to the community Facebook page No1seems2care, updating people on her injuries. She wrote:"Hi I’m one of the girls that was involved in at St Enoch gas explosion today. Luckily enough I’m on my way home with superficial burns thanks to the members of the public that helped me.She thanked members of the public who rushed to help her.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an explosion involving a gas canister at a“Emergency services are currently at the scene and the area has been closed off while work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and two patients were conveyed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.” A SFRS spokesperson added: “We were called to assist emergency service partners around 11am on Monday, December 5, to reports of a gas explosion within the Christmas Market at St Enoch Square, Glasgow.“Two casualties were handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.”
