services. Its Minister, Fahmi Fadzil revealed that he had asked the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and the telcos to conduct a study to fulfil the people’s aspiration for cheaper telco services.

As reported by Bernama, Fahmi said that he is holding talks with MCMC and telcos to explore ways on which to cut down on costs. He further stressed that Malaysians, especially young people are hoping that the price of internet and lines can be reduced. The KKD Minister then teased about an upcoming special announcement, which he said may be made in the “coming weeks”. Besides that, Fahmi also said that he was studying the best ways to improve the quality of services and resolve issues concerning 4G and 5G network reach in certain areas of Malaysia.

He iterated that our country must move faster in regards to developing our nation’s telecommunications infrastructure as while we are still discussing 5G, other countries have already begun talks of 6G. Hence, as the minister responsible, Fahmi said that he will be exploring ways to help this process.
