British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak faced criticism on Saturday for seeming out of touch with ordinary people when he asked a homeless man at a charity whether he 'worked in business' and wanted to get into the finance industry.

Sunak, a former Goldman Sachs banker and one of Britain's wealthiest people, was serving breakfast at a homeless shelter in London on Friday, when he began chatting with a man who identified himself as Dean. The prime minister this week made surprise phone calls to British diplomats and military personnel around the world to give them Christmas wishes, his office said on Friday.

Another clown 🤡 in power

Sunak's encounter was one of the best I've ever seen of a politician, sepecially a rich one, meeting a homeless man. Makes no assumptions about the man's past or future (both of which could be in business). The man was clearly engaged, polite and respectful.

Just when you think you can’t be more embarrassed to be British the Circus Clown starts performing. politics

I thought it was a Monty python skit. 😂😂😂

To be fair the guy did say he was interested in business in particular finance.

to be rich or poor is not always a question of talent or choice... unfortunately the ignorance and empathisness is a a choice

Man, RishiSunak is proving to be a disaster for the Tories. BorisJohnson shines in comparison! That is how bad things are. His recent comments on Scotland are embarrassing. London UK

One dimensional.

he was trying to make small talk...

Amusing that Reuters is not criticising NYC mayor deciding that all NYC homeless are insane. But is now Reuters a fair media or just far left wing?

Lol... 'I'd like to get through Christmas first...' I don't think Rishi understood anything of what the man was talking about. And on TV actually saying civil servants should shoulder the weight of the current inflationary period caused by Con Govt bungling.

リシも上級国民で庶民どころかホームレスの実体も分っていなかった。パンがなければケーキでも食べればといって断頭台に露と消えていった女王もかっていたような。😟😟😵‍💫

Rishi Sunak, richer than than the inheritance tax dodging Royals, showing how completely detached from really the corrupt Tories are.

What is there to criticize Sunak so much. If we are there in his place we would do so many mistakes. Just imagine when we are in too much of stress, what all blunders we do. This is just nothing. May be slip of tongue.

I hate to state the obvious, but not all homeless people are unemployed.

A clown

At least Rishi didn’t tell the man he could tell he was a bum .. I can’t believe Prime Minister is being criticized for saying something nice

another out of touch politician. yes Sunak, he works for IBM and just thought he'd stop by for some grub.

😂 these clowns are so disconnected with the people. No wonder Europe is in the gutter, without leadership whatsoever.

Totally out of touch Tory PM…..but only what we expect

Sumac is illegitimate, he is not elected , they just appointed him to follow up with the agenda

Sunak is an idiot😂

The British Mitt Romney

The question he should have asked, why are you homeless? Hard to get a job, to work, if you don't have an address and sleep on the streets.

Beyond parody 😂
