Previously, we wrote that gamers tend to go for digital game copies over physical ones. In that same report, we also noticed that mobile gaming continues to dominate the gaming industry but not as great as before.

In the infographics, mobile gaming earned a total of $92.2 billion and contributed 50% of market value. However, it is also noted that it has a -6.2% YoY which means last year was even better, possibly due to the pandemic. The chart also shows console games in second place, followed by PC games and browser PC games as the last.

Moving on to the mobile market statistics, the US spent the most in Worldwide Consumer Spending with $208 billion, followed by Japan, China , South Korea and Taiwan. For mobile games, consumers continue to spend on Honor of King with $2.5 billion. Unsurprisingly, PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact, Candy Crush Saga and Roblox also dominate the chart with over a billion spending.

India has the largest user base downloads on mobile games with 8.9 billion, while our neighbour Indonesia is at number four with 3.2 billion. It's also worth mentioning that in Twitter, Genshin Impact is still the most and only tweeted and retweeted mobile game when compared with other AAA video games.

Other than that, the infographics also provided other interesting details. This includes best-selling boxed games of the year for the United Kingdom, Japan and the US, the most highly and lowest rated game on Metacritic, the most viewed game trailers and many others.
