Dunbar House is a Grade II listed landmark house of national, cultural and historic heritage. Built around 1780, Dunbar House is on the outskirts of Enniskillen on the Lough Shore Road, with views stretching over the Lough Erne Waterway. An interesting story about an unsuccessful love conquest led to the building of the property in the eighteenth century, estate agents Montgomery Finlay & Co say..

"The interesting history of Dunbar House explains how it was built in an attempt to win the hand of the Reverend Mark Noble’s Daughter," the local agent says. "The house was built on high ground, by a suitor called Crozier, so the Lady could see it from Portora and vice-versa. Unfortunately, Crozier lost his life and house after losing a dual with Thomas Nixon, of Nixon Hall - who also failed to win the Lady's hand! Dunbar house was occupied in 1802 as Nixon eventually married the daughter of the Lord Mayor of Dublin, one Jemima Alcock."

The basement of the house features original lime-washed stone walls, while a prominent local art gallery was also hosted within the property.
