McKinney and Plano weren't far behind Frisco in the top 15 rankings.

Frisco, McKinney and Plano are the highest among other U.S. cities as the safest places to live, according to aSmartAsset analyzed 200 of the largest U.S. cities taking into consideration the following metrics: violent crime rate, property crime rate, vehicular mortality rate and drug poisoning mortality rate. The data is measured by per 100,000 residents.

Forty-nine precent of homebuyers stated that neighborhood safety is their top priority, according to the study, and the Lone Star State continues to stand to benefit as it houses some of the safest cities in the nation. For the second year in a row, Frisco ranked No. 1. According to the study, Frisco scored fourth-lowest for its crime rate and sixth-lowest for property crime.

McKinney ranked No. 2 in the nation, bringing with it the fifth-lowest property crime rate and 10th-lowest violent crime rate. Just a few places behind, Plano ranked No. 5 in the country, and No. 4 in the state, boasting the fourth-lowest drug poisoning mortality rate. Plano also ranked high on the same list among the safest cities in the U.S. in
