Does Darktide really need crafting, though?

The Armoury Exchange, a store that offers a randomized set of weapons refreshing hourly, will now also let players choose any weapon type and mark they've unlocked and receive one with random item rating and stats based on their level. No more unlocking the boltgun and then realizing there are none available in the shop.

The quality of weapons offered as rewards for weekly contracts will also be improved, while the requirements for completing them will go down."We are reducing the amount of work each contract asks of players and increasing the reward players will receive for completing the task. The collection of Grimoires and Scriptures will be collapsed into a single contract for completing these collectible side-missions.

Turns out, Fatshark has decided to scrap Combine Blessings entirely."Instead, earning a blessing will permanently unlock the ability to re-bless with that blessing at any time. We made this decision as it compliments where we will take blessings in the future, and it greatly alleviates the number of items that one would need to acquire, not only the ability to re-bless but also what you can re-bless with." Further info on the changes coming to this part of the game are still to come.

this game's so fun but damn, it's so empty

It'd be nice, but what it really needs right now is something good to do at the end of the Gearing loop. I already got orange on everything and have no further motivation - no, 'higher numbers' is not a motivation.

Isn't that just Star Lord?

I would like to see resources instead of equipment being dropped from all mobs. And then you have to craft, upgrade and repair your equipment with these resources. Even better to have a special class who never fights and just does the crafting for you from the resources u gather

But the cash shop works juuuuuust fine.

yes tf

if they did away w/ levels/stat upgrades for weapons, and gave them fixed stats/performance, I'd be fine w/out 'crafting'. The game, I think, does need an attachment system, like that of other shooters (for optics, lights, etc.). Needs better rewards per mission, too.

Crafting is everything!!

I'd be okay with the requisition system if they rebalanced everything around it. As it currently stands, weapons are balanced around how frequently they appear, and being able to just get Bolters and Eviscerators willy-nilly would make everything else useless.

I would really like to see the research that says all games need loot + crafting + gear scores etc. The vast majority of their implementation in games has been uninspired and uninteresting. It is a plague among modern gaming!

No it does not

It needs an extraction survival pvp mode 🤣

Hey if it doesn't shoehorn crafting in there are you even playing a game in 2023
