Remgro's intrinsic net asset value had increased 5% since June 2022 to R223.86 at the end of December 2022. However, the share price of R133.03 as at the end of December was still at 40.6% discount to the intrinsic net asset value.
Although the continuing"unbundling story" would unlock value for its shareholders, it also raised the question of how long Remgro would stay listed on the JSE, said Masilela. Remgro said the second half of the 2022 calendar year"continued to be marked globally as a period of macroeconomic and geopolitical instability, largely resulting from the Russia-Ukraine war, the ensuing geopolitical tensions, escalating commodity prices coupled with inflationary pressures from supply chain disruptions".
