Over the last two years, legislators have made diversity a central focus as they consider the tax credit program. Some projects, like the Latino-themed TV series “Mayans M.C.” on FX and the Netflix film “Me Time,” did hire a diverse workforce.“The productions that cared about diversity did really well across the board. You could see it,” he said. “For the projects that didn’t care, they did poorly.”, which helps boost Latino representation across the board. But on the whole, he said the industry’s track record is poor.

You do realize that by searching for “diversity” to fulfill a quota leads to racism. In that you’re telling a highly qualified skilled worker they can’t have a job and feed their family because their skin color isn’t dark enough to get a tax credit. Ridiculous.

It's important to ensure that everyone has a chance to participate in the film industry, but let's hope this snag doesn't delay progress on the tax credit. diversity filmindustry
