More scans at Sydney Adventist Hospital, near Hornsby, found she actually has a new form of the disease - a rare small cell lung cancer, which has spread.Do you have a story? Medical oncologist Dr Steven Kao from Chris O'Brien Lifehouse said it's hard to say whether Juckes' earlier cancer treatment had caused the new disease. One-in-three women and one-in-10 men diagnosed with the disease never have, Lung Foundation Australia says.
