Johor health and unity committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said both upgrading projects were funded with the state’s allocation of RM700,000.

“When Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi visited Ayer Hitam last year, he saw the need for the public spaces to be upgraded so he agreed to the allocation.“The upgrading included replacing the children’s playground facilities, installing exercise equipment, adding more lighting and shelter as well as a installing a jogging track.

Ling, who is also Yong Peng assemblyman, said the upgrades took about 10 weeks and both projects had been handed over to the local council.Ling visiting the Ayer Hitam wet market which was refurbished using funds given by the state government.
