Tánaiste Micheál Martin has launched a new podcast series that will see him become an “interviewer instead of interviewee”.The party stated that there would be further episodes released later in the year.
Dr Henry said that 20 years ago, Irish people were drinking 14L of pure alcohol a year. This, he said, is now down to 10L annually, which equates to around 420 pints a person. “Noel, at times, when he brought in the drink driving laws and various other laws, he was probably at that time, one of the more unpopular ministers. The Tánaiste also stated there has been a “lot of pushback” to the Irish Government’s suggestion that warning labels should be placed on alcohol bottles. The plan was approved by Cabinet earlier this year.
“We have to do more faster and to deal with the housing issue, particularly for younger people,” the Tánaiste said.
