'Firstly they could never afford me, but more importantly there is no amount of money you can put on teaching a black child like I was once.'

Responding to the post, Sello, whose career in the art space spans more than 40 years, recalled being interviewed as a possible candidate for the position, stating the monetary benefits were never his concern but to teach the next generation.

In his post, Sello also shared a picture of his Master of arts degree, claiming the interviewers knew who was getting the position before they advertised it. “What more did these people want or need? That’s if they truly even know because at this point I highly doubt it. They could have come clean and stated this job had a face, a name and a surname before it was even advertised.

“I stated I don’t have a salary expectation or an amount in mind because, firstly they could never afford me, but more importantly there is no amount of money you can put on teaching a black child like I was once how to respect and nurture their God-given talent because it can be their ticket to survival, I was interviewed by people who are not even qualified to interview for the space they think they understand and occupy. They must come for me because I’m now ready to fight for what is right.
