In an interview with the Cape Breton Post, 45Drive CEO and founder Doug Milburn and technology education manager Ashley MacDonald discussed the upcoming summit and what it means for the industry in Cape Breton. “What we’re looking for is an open dialogue about what’s new and what will move the needle in the storage world over the next few years,” said Milburn.

45Drives is the host. Parent company Protocase supplies sheet metal enclosures for devices to companies around the world. Over time, 45Drives developed out of newer ideas of storage such as “open source.” Now, the company focuses on solutions in the industry, such as developing lower-cost and more flexible storage options.

“It’s from everyone from home-lab use — individuals using at home for streaming or storing video camera files at home — to some of the biggest universities, research facilities or video production houses.Milburn kept his answer simple when the Post asked why Cape Breton is the ideal place to hold this kind of summit.
