Among FTSE 100 constituents, major oil & natural gas companies company BP PLC BP, +2.73% saw the largest increase Friday, as shares rose 2.73%.

Antofagasta PLC ANTO, +1.59%, a non-ferrous metals company, and major oil & natural gas companies firm Shell PLC SHEL, +1.37% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rose 1.59% and 1.37%, respectively. Shares of non-life insurance firm Admiral Group PLC ADM, -2.41% and diversified reits company Land Securities Group PLC LAND, -1.83% shed 2.41% and 1.83%, respectively.

The pound was down 0.65% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.63% at $1.2591 and 0.12% against the euro GBPEUR, -0.09% at €1.1673.
